Epoxy zinc-rich primer is currently a primer commonly used in the coating of heavy-duty steel structures. Compared with ordinary primers, it has better overall performance and excellent cathodic protection.
The epoxy zinc-rich primer is recommended to be used in conjunction with the epoxy mica intermediate paint with very good shielding performance, which has better anti-corrosion effect. The specific matching paint should be selected according to the use environment and anti-corrosion years.
1. Indoor environment
Supporting recommendation: epoxy zinc-rich primer + epoxy mica intermediate paint + epoxy topcoat
In this environment, epoxy topcoat is chosen as the matching coating because the epoxy topcoat has poor resistance to ultraviolet radiation. If it is exposed outdoors for a long time, it will be easy to yellow and chalk, which will affect the anti-corrosion and aesthetics of the coating. So the supporting program is more suitable for indoor use.
2. Outdoor general anti-corrosion environment
Supporting recommendation: epoxy zinc-rich primer + epoxy mica intermediate paint + acrylic polyurethane topcoat
Acrylic polyurethane topcoat has tough film, good adhesion, full color, and moderate price. It is a commonly used topcoat in medium and high corrosive environments.
3. Outdoor heavy anti-corrosion environment
Supporting recommendation: epoxy zinc-rich primer + epoxy mica intermediate paint + fluorocarbon top coat
Fluorocarbon paint has good weather resistance, long anti-corrosion years, and good decorative effect. It is suitable for anti-corrosion coating of outdoor large-scale steel structures and buildings in high-corrosion environments.
It should be noted that the epoxy zinc-rich primer cannot be used in conjunction with the oil-based resin paint, and it is prone to saponification reaction, causing problems such as paint film peeling.
