Classification of Zinc-rich Primers

Zinc-rich primer contains a large amount of zinc powder, which can protect steel from corrosion by sacrificing its own cations. There are mainly two types of epoxy zinc-rich and inorganic zinc silicate products, which can be combined with high-performance epoxy and polyurethane coating to form a heavy-duty anticorrosive coating system of zinc-rich primer + epoxy intermediate paint + polyurethane topcoat. They are used in relatively harsh atmospheric environments, and inorganic zinc silicate primers can also be used alone as anti-corrosion coatings.

1. Epoxy zinc-rich primer:

Epoxy zinc-rich primer is an epoxy primer prepared from zinc powder, epoxy resin as the base material, polyamide resin or amine adduct as the curing agent, and an appropriate mixed solvent. paint.

The paint film contains a large amount of zinc powder to form a continuous and tight coating that comes into contact with the metal.

Epoxy zinc-rich primer should be applied to the surface of sandblasted to Sa2.5 level, compatible with most coatings (except alkyd paint which will be saponified), and is a good primer in multi-layer coating systems.

Whether it is new construction or on-site maintenance construction, it dries quickly, recoats with relatively short intervals, has good adhesion, collision resistance, heat resistance up to 150 degrees Celsius, and good wear resistance.

2. Inorganic zinc silicate primer:

Inorganic zinc primer has good corrosion resistance. The paint film damage can be little during transportation. Even if the paint film is damaged, the rust will not spread. It can work for a long time in a high temperature 400℃ environment.
